I want to protect this computer from any bad things out there that might get on my computer. I am going to get Malwarebytes for spyware/adware because Pirate said it was great, but I don't know which anti-virus to use. What is the suggested anti-virus program I should use?

I would recommend Avast. Avira is also very good, but connecting to the update server can be brutal at times. Also remember that no one piece of software can offer you total protection. You need a combination of security applications. For example, you can use Avast for Anti-virus, Superantispyware for your anti-spyware protection, and Malwarebytes for an added bonus, I would suggest using this only for a scan. Since Malwarebytes doesn't offer realtime protection unless you have the paid version. Just make sure that you update the virus definitions before you scan. You could also throw a free personal firewall in the mix, like Zone Alarm, Comodo, or Online Armor. Between these programs that I have mentioned, your computer will be well protected.

No Malwarebytes Free Edition does not offer realtime protection.
