Hi everyone,
I hope you're doing well. (: Previously , as you know, my computer was having problems. However, now, it is having one that I can't really manage with. I explained to Noop that:

I shut off my computer, and now it's messing up when I try to start it.
When it starts up, I get two options.
One is to start it normally, and the other is to Start it with repair. :/

However , when I choose start it normally, it goes to the ACER start up screen, (You know how it has that for every computer, the logo); then it goes back to the options list. When I choose repair, the screen goes black, then returns to the option screen as well.
I tried pressing F8, and got several more options. I attempted to try majority of them , however they also just reverted me back to the options list of the original two.

I can get you the exact details if needed. (:

I'm going upstairs actually (in a few minutes) to write down all the options, etc, etc.

Nope =\
it goes to the screen where it would load the files, and have them all like.. o.o; scroll , you know.
But it doesn't show any, and just goes back to the options screen.

Ok, this is a really serious problem. We need to make a Windows Vista repair disc. Would you know if your copy of Windows Vista that was installed was 32bit or 64bit? If not, please provide me the model to your computer.

Also, do you have a blank cd?

Ok go here > http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DHJ5X7OY and download super grub disc. It is a little program that can be used to repair the Windows MBR and can also be used as a boot disk. It is an .iso image so you will need a blank cd and iso burning software to burn the image onto the cd. If you don't know how to do this let me know and I will give you instructions.

Alright, thankyou, Pirate. (: I'm not exactly sure about iso burning software, so if you could accompany me with some instructions, that would be lovely. However, I have to go for the night; >.< (waking up early) , but if you leave the instructions here, I will definitely get to them in the morning. :)

Thankyou noop, thankyou Pirate! :] I appreciate everything so very, very much..

Ok first thing you need to do is download an iso burner. This is the one I use > http://download.cnet...f9a4306d207bbe4 its called Free ISO Burner. Its very basic and very easy to use. Once installation is complete run the program and follow these steps

  • Step 1: Browse for the .iso image Click the button circled in the screenshot
    Posted Image

  • Step 2: Once your locate your image select it and click the open button > then click the Next button

  • Step 3: On the next window > select your burn speed from the first drop down menu > choose 8x > Make sure that Disc-At-Once raw P-W is selected in the second drop down menu > and that the Data Verify checkbox is checked > Then click the burn button. The burn will not take very long since the image is only 4 megabytes.

  • Step 4: Once the burn is complete the disc will automatically eject.

Thats it for the burning part. I will make another post on how to use the CD.

Super Grub Disk Instructions
  • Step 1: Turn your PC on and put the CD in the drive.

  • Step 2: Now you need to restart your pc and set your computer to boot from CD first. When you see your Acer screen it will tell you what key you have to press to enter your boot options. Most likely its going to be F12. Once your at your boot options select your CD/DVD drive and press enter. Just let your computer restart and run its course.

  • Step 3: Just let Super Grub Disc load up until you see a brown screen that says <========= Distro !!!!!!! at the top

  • Step 4: Use the down arrows to select => MBR & !WIN! : ((((((((((((((((((((( and press enter

  • Step 5: Now you may get other options after that, or it could just try and boot Windows Vista up. If you do get more options and are unsure of what to do list the options that it gives you and I will tell you what to choose. If it does try and boot Vista, and fails let me know and there are options that we can choose.

Uhm, when I'm selecting the burning speed, it gives me 4.0 and 10.0, but not 8.0x. Should I choose 10.0?

Yes 10 is fine you could even choose 4 and it wouldn't hurt anything.

When starting the computer up, it doesn't say which key to press for the Boot options, :/ and F12 doesn't seem to do anything.
