I have hp pavillion dv 6255 ca with vista ultimate . I get the message that Media centre has stopped working and windows is trying to find a solution to the problem. Also I can not access my web cam in skype despite trying all old and new versions and all settings in the tools and advanced sections. Earlier there was no problem. I read somewhere that the problem is due to corrupted media center dll (ehiextcom.dll) and can be rectified by downloading the same. I don't know how to go about it. I will appreciate any help from any friend. Thanks

Hi and welcome to PCHHQ have you tried to do a system restore to before when it was working? give this a shot

Through the All Programs menu:

1.


Click Start.

2.


Point to All Programs.

3.


Point to Accessories.

4.


Point to System Tools.

5.


Click System Restore.

6.


Follow the instructions on the wizard. And select date from before you had this issue post back the results

If you would like, you can also try replacing the dll.
