Does anyone here use Windows media Center? If so what are your thoughts on it?

I just hooked up my old TV Tuner card to it and it seems to run very well! Just have a few problems but I think it is the cable signal itself. Anyone else run TV on theirs?

I am running this on Windows 7 btw :)

I have a really old tuner card that I got almost 3 years ago.

It is an ATI TV Wonder 650 PCI card.
ATI TV Wonder HD 650 Series

It finds all of the normal cable channels (1-71 in my town) and then the clear QAM channels that come with your cable package. (Does not pick up the channels that one of the cable boxes does above 100).

The software ATI has is horrible, but if you install just the drives for the card, it works great with Windows Media Center on Windows 7. I can play, pause, fast forward, record an individual show, record a series, etc.

This also stores a TV Guide with info for all of the channels and allows you to view info on what is coming up next up to 14 days in advance!

I will take a few screenshots later tonight and post them up for ya if you would like.

Ok, here are a few pics of just the TV Portion. I didn't take the pics fullscreen to reduce picture sizes.

Here is the menu when you are in the TV section on the main screen of Windows Media Center:

Here is a picture of some HD Video.

Picture of the channel guide:

The guide also allows you to sort by categories:

Here you can see what the show is about and select your recording method:

In addition to just normal TV, you can watch Internet TV (basically MS version of Hulu)

After clicking on a show it will show the series of that show:

Here is what the video looks like (This is an old show and it is in motion, so it looks kinda crappy. Looks better than the screenshot if you see it in person)

Enjoy!

Should work fine. You will need to hookup the dish box to the back of your pc and then have media center scan for channels.
