Another OpenOffice port This time from Big Blue

Those of you who remember our discussion a couple of months ago re OpenOffice (see this forum) may be interested to see this latest offering from the Old Man of computing himself -IBM (lenovo, whatever they're called in this incarnation).
Using the Lotus brand, an OpenOffice based productivity app called Lotus Symphony has been released and, it pains me to say, on first sight it looks quite impressive.
Using a tabbed interface the user is able to have open multiple office apps in one window i.e. word processor, spreadsheet and presentation app. Presentations can be exported directly as Flash animated html pages - one of the features that caught the eye of the IT admin that demonstrated it to me.
Available for all your favourite operating systems (of course) check it out.

Looks like a very nice office suite. Think I am going to download the linux and windows versions.

Wow! Looks kind of similar to MS Office. I like the tabbed feature!

OMG!! I like it gee the tabs are great so easy to use they have done an awesome job from what I can see so far. Wonder if it will ever support Office 07 file formats E.g .docx

Yes it does - well it opens them anyway. I suppose will have to wait till it can save in them too!
Like the built-in browser too - Hmmm

Just installed this on Ubuntu 9.10 and I am impressed. I almost like it better than OO.O I think I am going to do some of my school work this next 1/4 with it, to see how everything goes.
