Ever wanted to learn Visual Basic here How Do I” Videos — Visual Basic is a great place to start and get you on you way I have done all of the video's here. If you know nothing about Visual Basic and wanted some where so start this is a great place to go to get you started on your way to programming!!

I have had a little VB programming, and personally I don't care for it much. Honestly I don't like programming at all, however it is very useful to know. I do want to learn C++ more than anything, because that is what Linux uses for their programming.

I'm in the process or learning the visual studio languages. I didn't know Linux was written in C++ wow I guess I'd better check it out. What install of Linux do you recommend Pirate07?

C++ is very useful in many things. However, you may be better off learning C itself as C++ is built off of C if I am correct

I don't know the languages myself, however I can read them for the most part.

Well I always recommend Ubuntu or Linux Mint for first time users. I personally use Ubuntu and Fedora, but prefer Ubuntu over any other Linux distro. There are just sooooo many to choose from. The best part about Linux is the Live CDs. You can try them out without any changes to your computer which is great. I have over 50 Live CDs right now and plan on getting more. FYI if you wanted a good Linux Distro for hacking WIFI or resetting your Windows passwords (just incase you forget them) check out Backtrack 3 or any version of backtrack for that matter. But be careful you can get yourself in trouble!!

Agree with every statement above! Ubuntu has a good database of drivers and updates frequently, great Linux distribution for anyone that wants to start. I also love the Live CD's! Just like Pirate07 says, you can run them without needing to install the OS first

Handy link, been using VS 2008 for a while but often need a few hints. I have side-stepped C++ and am currently looking at C#, very powerful but as a .net language quite easy to use. Still mainly use Vb though as it does most of what I want, and quick to pick up - used the SAMS learn VB.net in 24 hrs, and was away - between that and the documentation was developing a few things alomost straight away.

As I've said elsewhere looking into Linux myself, although not tried Ubuntu yet - will give it a bash!

No promises but I'll try. To be honest as I'm self-taught I have a lot of work-arounds that may not always be correct practice, but they got me out of a hole!
