My Cannon MP460 broke when replacing printer cartridge. There is now a long loose band type thing.

I have had a look in the manual you need to dismantle the printer to re attache it to the print head is this still under warranty? Is the band still in one piece or has it snapped?

do you feel confident enough to take the top off the printer are you ok with this stuff? because you need to remove to the top casing off the printer to see where it gets hooked to and to be able to hook it back on. I can help with this if your ok with doing this

They won't let me download the manual unless I pay $9.95 which I'm not doing.. if you open the printer where you put the cartridges in the plastic caddy they go in also runs on a metal plate with a screw at each end if you take them out you should be able to move the caddy around enough to hook the belt back on. The caddy has a plastic L cut out at the back of it where the belt get wedged under. Post back if you have trouble reattaching it I have another model here I can take a part and take a photo to show how it hooked to the cartridge caddy. if we can't get to the back of the caddy this way we have to dismantle most of the printer
Oh almost forgot if you want the service manual it's here http://911manuals.co...dex.php/cPath/4 it will show you how to dismantle the printer and get to what you need
