Okay so i bought my desktop computer off a local classified ad site. It came with 5 speakers and a sub. There are 2 speakers to a cord that plugs in, except the 1 speaker that goes on top of the computer desk. So a total of 3 cords that need to be plugged into the tower. When i hook them up, only 2 work, along with the sub. There are 6 holes that are for speakers on the back of the tower. Each with a different color. There is Grey, Black, Orange, Blue, Red, and Green. But then not too far away on the back there is another set of 6 holes of the same color. The speaker cords are Black, Red, and Green. When i plug them all in the only hole that works in the Green one, on the lower set of holes. I tried every hole and the only one that works with ANY color of cord is the Green one. Is there a way i can fix this?
I know it sounds confusing but really that is the only explanation that doesnt sound too bad.
Any ideas?
They are Logitech Brand. My computer is an Aspire, it's a custom gaming computer. Thats about all i know about it lol..not my smartest purchase.

Welcome to the bloxingham!
Most speaker sets attach to the subwoofer, and then 1 cable goes from the subwoofer to the computer (This cable is usually the green cable).
Also here is a setup you may want to use: 2 speakers behind you, 2 in-front and the subwoofer to the left in the front (this is how I have mine)
Would you mind checking the speakers to see if there are any model numbers so I can lookup some more info?
I know exactly what you are talking about and would be glad to help you resolve this

Okay i looked and the bottom sticker says PID: R519
okay i'll try to explain how this is set up, because its really confusing. The MAIN speaker that has the on and off switch and the volume knob has 2 cords feeding from the back. One really fat one that goes into the back of the subwoofer that plugs in and has those 2 screw things on the side. Then another one that splits into the 3 colors (red, green, and black) for the tower. Each speaker has its own cord i guess, and they hook into the subwoofer as well. They are the Yellow, White, Red and Black cords that you use for like car stereo hookups, like the universal ones. (dont know how else to explain it lol) Then there is a cord coming from the sub that just plugs into power.
Thats pretty much the best i can explain how it is, if it makes sense.

Ok so you have all the speakers hooked up into the subwoofer, and then you just have 3 cords left (red, green, and black) that go into the pc? When you connect the green ones, only the front 2 speakers work, correct?
Sorry for the slow reply,

We have a solution just need a little more info do you know what soundcard or mainboard is in the PC we need to download and install a driver and software where we can assign the the sound card jack to the speakers like this http://www.mslinn.co...es/realtek4.png do you have a program like that all on the PC?
Oh If you don't know what mainboard and sound card is in the PC download http://www.belarc.co...e_download.html and run it it will tell us what is inside the PC

okay, i'm not sure what kind of soundcard or mainboard is in here. But the person who i bought it from sold me the speakers with it, so i'm guessing the PC has the tools to run them i just need to figure out how. I looked and i found a RealTek Sound Management and it has 3 different tabs in there one for info, then one for sound effect and then configuration. I chose the 6 speaker one because with the sub there are 6. But when i go into the sound effects tab thingy. It has buttons for like different environments. But when i push them there is no noise.

1. If you don't know what mainboard and sound card is in the PC download http://www.belarc.co...e_download.html and run it it will tell us what is inside the PC and post back so I can direct you on what to do.
2.If you unplug speaker from PC will it detect and say on screen the speaker is detected or not? If not we need to download new software and driver to get it all working
