Compaq Presario m2000 laptop, XP.
Laptop works fine plugged in, When I unplug it it dies after just a minute or so. Battery says 100%.
I bought an new battery, Charged it fully and got the same problem. Then I went to power settings and changed those trying a few different settins including max battery. Did not fix it. Any ideas?
Thnx.

Seems Battery check is not compatible with my machine. I get a string of errors then it opens and says this new battery has a bad cell but has full charge and high storage capacity. I then plugged in the old battery that I thought was bad and get the same errors then the same battery report.
This computer recently had a reinstall of xp recently if that is any help.

ok then that means that it must have it in the BIOS Press F10 while the cursor in the top right corner of the screen is blinking, on boot up when first turned on. It should got into the BIOS have a look around in there for battery calibration. Let me know if the F10 key won't get into the BIOS it could be a few other keys.
When the XP was installed did they install all the latest drivers for the hardware in the PC?
