Hi ericwood can you try something for me

To configure TCP/IP, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections.
2. Right-click the network connection that you want to configure, and then click Properties.
3. On the General tab (for a local area connection), or the Networking tab (for all other connections), click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click Properties.
4. click Obtain DNS server address automatically.

then reboot pc and try internet

Ericwood, if you had a virus, your proxy settings in Internet Explorer may be messed up. I would recommend resetting Internet Explorer to defaults and see if the problem persists.

To do so, click Tools->Internet Options->Advanced->Reset...

I would recommend backing up your bookmarks to another location, have internet explorer delete everything, and then restore the bookmarks to make sure everything is wiped clean.

Let me know if this helps,
noop
