Hey noop and matt. Remember last time I had that printer problem? Well it's happening again, this time on Vista. I see the site has been reformatted. Well since the old topic is gone I need to ask this problem again if it's no trouble to you. How do I get the printer cable to work again? I know it's the driver problem, but I forgot how to fix it >_<. If you forgot my printer brand, it's HP Deskjet D1520. Thanks in advance.

Welcome back new_guy! Yea, we decided to just start fresh since this would allow us to let the site run faster and more secure.

Could you describe the problem just a bit more? Was it that the printer was just not recognized by the computer when you connect everything up?

When I plug the USB cord in for the printer, it will say it "found new hardware" (i.e. the printer), so I believe it is the same problem as back in May: the driver doesn't work.

Awesome, easy fix, do you know if you have windows vista 32bit or 64bit? You can find out by clicking on the start logo in the bottom left, and then right click on Computer, and click properties. You should see a field named: System type

have you tried going to the HP website? If not here is the link to your printer with all the available drivers. The most recent one is 06/2009 http://h10025.www1.h...568533&lang=en#

@noop: It is 32-bit.

@pirate: Thanks for the link! I was able to install the driver I needed.

@matt: If it wasn't for this site, I would have to go to the hospital from frustration ):.

So the problem is solved. I was able to install the necessary driver. Thanks everybody!
