Hello,

I installed Tortois SVN 32 bit on a windows 7 64 operating system then i had to restart the computer. I then booted into windows to find that all driver signatures were disabled. I didnt see how i could re-enable it so i went to re format the harddrive with some recovery disc's i had backed up. ONce i was in the recovery disc options menu i click "Factory reset". After awhile it said to incert factory disc #2 then i did. After awhile it then said to insert recovery disc #3...Windows 7 only mad 2 recovery discs. Now i can't get windows back on my laptop.

Hp G61-511WM Notebook

Serial: (S)CNF9360YRW

MODEL NUMBER: G61-511WM

Running Windows 7 64 bit.

This did not come with any disc's.

Had to make (2)recovery discs.

Please help me.

When i boot up the PC with no recovery disc it says BOOTMGR is missing press Ctrl+ALT+DEL. WHen i tried recovering my laptop it formatted the partition, so i have no OS and i had to exit on the 2nd disc, because i had no #3 recovery disc, that HP should have gave me.

give this a shot :)

Restore the PC to its original condition using the f11 key if Windows 7 is not accessible
If the PC cannot launch into Windows, it may still be possible to use the HP Recovery Manager on the hard drive to restore the computer to its original operating condition. The Recovery Manager can be launched during the startup process by following the steps below.

1.
Press the Power button to start the PC, and then press the f11 key when the standard BIOS prompts are displayed on the black screen.
NOTE: Pressing the f11 key during startup on a computer with an HP factory image will start the system recovery process even if the prompt is not displayed.
* If the HP Recovery Manager can access the recovery partition on the hard drive, a prompt to backup the user files before beginning the recovery is displayed. Follow any on-screen instructions.
* If the HP Recovery Manager cannot access the hard drive to fix any system errors, you will need to use the personalized recovery disc that you created to recover the hard drive to its original condition.
*
If you have not created the personalized recovery disc, or the discs are corrupted, you can order a replacement recovery disc from HP.
2.
When the Recovery Manager starts, follow the step-by-step system recovery instructions shown above.

Thank you for your response.

Although, this laptop did not come with a factory disc so i can not restore it to it's original state. All i have is two recovery discs, and when i get to the recovery manager, a few options are no longer accessible, ie; recover disc, most of help option. Only thing available is restore to factory settings which requires a factory image disc.

this makes it very hard without a windows 7 DVD.

1. If you tap F8 key at power on what options is it giving you?

2. Has the PC got a windows 7 key?
