I am saving all my dedicated computer money to build an awesome gaming computer. I will be using dual 5970 cards and want to completely maximize my gaming experience with three screens. Is the i9 worth the 6-core wait? or is there an existing better solution? And how far is the release date and are the OC 4.8ghz stats really true?

Is this all that it has led people to believe? Or just more cores for less?

The core i9 will be better than the Core i7 since it has 6 cores that run 2 threads each, whereas the Core i7 has 4 cores totaling 8 threads. I am sure it will be overclockable and I am guessing it will be about $1200-$1400 based on what the price the Core i7 was when it was very first released. As for release date, I have no idea. My guess is late Q3 or early Q4 will be the first appearance.

As for are the OC 4.8Ghz stats really true? I haven't seen the stats or have really heard much about the i9 tbh. I am sure it could be overclocked that high, but it will probably need to be liquid cooled.

Is it worth the wait? I cannot make this decision for you. Their is no doubt the processor will be faster though.

Keep in mind the core i7 is still an extremely fast processor and will probably be able to get the job.

Hope this helps,
