I want to build my own website and dont want to go and hard code the site (it would take too long) so i would like to find a copy of dreamweaver that i dont have to pay for. i know this is not a typical ? but i really want to find a really good web designer, and i believe Dreamweaver to be the best. If you can tell me where i can get a free copy OR if you can tell me where to find a web editor that is very much like DW then i would greatly appreciate it. Thx.

Welcome to the site mchype14!

Dreamweaver is definitely worth the money if you can purchase a copy (see if you can get a student discount if you are a student, will help tons!). However, if you cannot, here are a few alternatives that you could try:

Amaya
http://www.w3.org/Amaya/Overview.html

KompoZer
http://www.kompozer.net/

Nvu
http://net2.com/nvu/index.html

All 3 of those are 100% free :)

Hope this helps,

so i just was looking at the kompozer and the nvu and kompozer is based off of nvu and the site directly advertises to download kompozer because of some of the bugs that are in the 1.0 version of nvu. so i decided to disregard the nvu download. but i will give both of these a go round and i will get back to you with how its working out. thx again.
