the last few days my laptop has been playing up ( laggy )
so i look on system tools and what used to be 3gb ram has now been reduced to 1gb ram, now im not stupid, it has changed
i have not removed any programmes or added any that i can think would affect this. i havent tried to add any ram or anything.
anyway ive recently rebooted/reformatted the system, but its still saying its only 1gb ram

the laptop is a hp g60 115ea

any reason for this or any solutions would be much apreciated, thanks

Could you restart your computer and go into your BIOS and see if that detects 3GB of ram? To do that, just restart, and on the very first loading screen it will tell you to push whatever key to get into setup. Now, I am not sure which screen this will be on since all computers are different, but usually it will tell you how much it is detecting on the first page.

it is showing 1024mb ( 1 Gb ) damn, what else?

This means that you have only 1GB of ram installed in your pc, or some sticks of RAM have failed.

it was definatly 3gb, but im going to take it to the shop tomorrow as its still under warrenty, thanks for your help
