I see a window flash briefly everytime I log in. I have reinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit, two times since I bought my computer last June (2010). It is an HP Pavillion p6404y. It is an AMD PhenomII X4 820 processor 2.8ghz. There is an 8gb ram; and 1T hard drive. The first time I had to re-install because I got a blue screen and the computer got additional errors after that. The second time I got a virus and the computer was not the same afterwards. Now I try to take things alot slower, ie. downloads, free version trials, etc. I have no clue what could be causing the 'flash' when I log on. Can you help me understand the issue? I tried to tell HP and they have side-stepped me each time I mentioned it. At first, before re-installing windows the first time, I thought it was a bios update. On the second re-install, HP auto-updated, including the bios, and the flash is still there. It seems to me that it is some kind of hardware conflict.

Welcome Genfelix!
This sounds like a command window loading on boot. Sometimes drivers/services by some software programs make these popup when windows loads. On the other hand, this could also be a command window executing malicious software. I would highly recommend running a malwarebytes scan on your machine and seeing if there is anything nasty running in the background.
Download Malwarebytes Free Edition from here > http://download.cnet...4-10804572.html During the installation of Malwarebytes just accept all the defaults, such as installation location, if you want desktop icons of not, you can clean all of this up later on. The most important thing is, you get this program installed, updated, and running. At the end of the installation make sure that update Malwarebytes and run Malwarebytes check boxes are checked and click finish.

Malwarebytes will now update its virus definitions and to the latest version if needed, then the program will run. Make sure your on the scanner tab and Preform a Quick Scan is selected, then click the scan button.

The scan should only take a couple of minutes, so be patient. Once the scan is finished you will get a window that looks like this. Click on the "show results" button.

On the scan results windows make sure that there are green check marks in the boxes beside all of the infections, and click the "remove selected" button.

Once Malwarebytes removes the infections you will get a scan log with information about what has been removed.
Note: Not every infection will be removed until you restart your PC. Once your PC is booted back up, run a full scan with Malwarebytes instead of a quick scan. This will ensure that there are no left over infections on your PC.
Let me know if this helps,
