CD/DVD rom issues. puzzeler for ya.

Hello gentlemen its me again. im haveing problems with my HP pavilon entertainment pcs Cd laptop rom drive isnt bringing up a run option i put it in in spins and nothing.. i look in my computer to see if theres an option nothing wont run cds or driver disks. its a Vista.... any ideas?

- Restart your pc
- When the blue HP screen pops up, start to tap the F1 key.
- You should now be on a blue screen. Select the Main tab using the arrow keys on your keyboard.
- Write down what it says for each of the channel devices.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't autorun disabled by default in Vista?
Click Start, type 'autorun' in the search box and access the control panel - change the settings to allow autorun.

It has to say something?

No problems I understand not everyone is computer savvy and this is what we are here for
click this link http://support.micro..._drive_problems then click the green "run now" it will open a file to download, download it then open it to fix the issue

once it's downloaded open the file and follow the prompts then reboot and check if DVD is there?

if you close that and reboot is the DVD drive there now?
