I do a ton of audio/video editing and gaming, as well as using a lot of CGI and Simulation programs. I'm putting together a build and this is what I'm thinking.

Cooler Master HAF 932 (Massive case, many fans)
SuperMicro Dual LGA1366
Two processors,
  • 2ishGHz Dual Core for background system processes
  • 3ishGHz Quad-Core for applications
16Gb Corsair Dominator-Gt DDR3 1333 RAM
2-4 1TB 7200RPM Hard Drives SATA 6Gb/s
64Gb SSD
2x 1Gb Graphics Cards with SLI & CrossFIreX
CreAtive Sound Blaster X-Fi 7.1 Channel Sound Card
750w Power Supply
CD/DVD/Blue Ray
2x Cooler Master V8 CPU Cooler

Let me know what you guys think.

Looks really good!

Make sure you use the 64Gb SSD for your Windows Boot Partition and this thing should fly! What OS will you be using? I would highly recommend using Windows 7 x64.

As for your Sound Card, you may want to look into buying this card instead (Am not sure what Xi-Fi model you were looking at). People claim there are a few driver problems, however I think you will able to still get it to work: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional 70SB088600002 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Express x1 Interface Sound Card

Also, make sure to check that your motherboard supports SLI/CrossFire.
